That's the initial information we got as we started working on our WebQuest. As a beginner it was rather unclear; "6 parts and inquiry-oriented lesson, what?!" were the thoughts that were going through my head. As I brainstormed a topic, I figured science fair projects would be most appropriate for such a inquiry-based lesson site. In my introduction I explained the basics of what my WebQuest was with. I went further to briefly explain the journey in the task section of my WebQuest. My 7 Step Process my listed under the process tab; in addition I directly linked the pages of each step. The resource tab provided additional resources the students can use to complete the project. Students can prepare and check themselves by evaluating their project. Finally, the sites I used were listed under the credits tab.
WebQuest has also taught me how to integrate technology into basic lesson instruction. Through the professional development that happens when you integrate digital age work, learning, and citizenship, student learning is bound to happen. With skill and web tactic design, the 6 part inquiry-based lesson that the WebQuest format provides lets that all happen. I feel confident using the WebQuest when designing lesson plans that enable students to interact with the resources, instruction, and design not just in class, but also at home.
From completing this project I've mastered several skills including: web design, linking pages, graphics, Google products (sites, document), and adding media that all align with the ISTE Net's standards that evaluate the skills and knowledge educators need to teach, work, and learn in an increasingly connected global and digital society. The ISTE NET Standards that the WebQuest enables me to facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity by teaching instructional and lesson planning, sequencing skills through cloud-based technologies; and fostering skills that support student learning and problem solving with technology.
